When we founded ALMS NYC in 2015, our goal was simple: to create functional, stylish, and durable gear that met the needs of urban motorcyclists. As riders ourselves, we understood the challenges of navigating city streets and wanted to design products that offered both practicality and aesthetic appeal. From our headquarters in Brooklyn, we developed a line of minimalist carry solutions from motorcycle tail bags and helmet totes to tool rolls and magnetic E-ZPass holders that seamlessly fit into the fast-paced lifestyle of modern riders.
Our commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovation drove every product we designed. The 12L Motorcycle Tail Bag, in particular, became a standout piece, thanks to its waterproof and expandable design. When we launched it on Kickstarter, the response was overwhelming, reaffirming our belief that motorcyclists wanted well-crafted, thoughtfully designed gear.
While ALMS NYC is no longer active, we take immense pride in what we built. The brand’s impact lives on through the riders who still rely on our products. For us, ALMS NYC was never just about selling gear it was about enhancing the riding experience and fostering a community of urban motorcyclists.
About the Founders – Shaun & Jessica Lee
Shaun and Jessica Lee are the visionary co-founders behind ALMS NYC, blending their unique backgrounds in design, fashion, and craftsmanship to create a brand that resonated with urban motorcyclists.
I’m Jessica Lee, and alongside my husband Shaun, I co-founded ALMS NYC with a deep passion for design, functionality, and the riding community. My background in fashion and product design helped shape the identity of ALMS NYC, ensuring that our products weren’t just practical but also stylish and timeless. Having worked with brands like Club Monaco and Ghurka, I refined my expertise in brand development, operations, and sustainability, and I brought that knowledge into ALMS NYC, overseeing the fine details that made our products stand out.
At ALMS NYC, my focus was on making sure that each product met high-performance standards while embodying an aesthetic that reflected the spirit of the modern rider. From sourcing high-quality materials to fine-tuning every detail, I worked tirelessly to maintain the brand’s commitment to excellence and innovation. After ALMS NYC, I took my passion for sustainability and product design into my role as Director of Design Operations at Away Travel, where I continue to push for environmentally responsible innovations in consumer products.

Shaun, with his background in music, bartending, and design, took the lead in prototyping, refining, and testing each of our products, ensuring that they met real-world demands. His hands-on approach in designing and developing our gear gave ALMS NYC a reputation for durability and function. Today, he has transitioned into painting and mural work, using his creative energy to bring artistic visions to life, but his love for craftsmanship remains unchanged.
Jessica Lee brings extensive experience in fashion and product design, having worked with renowned brands like Club Monaco and Ghurka. She played a pivotal role in brand development and operational strategy, ensuring ALMS NYC’s products met the highest standards. Today, Jessica serves as the Director of Design Operations at Away Travel, where she focuses on sustainability and innovative product strategies.

Together, Shaun and Jessica built ALMS NYC into more than just a brand it was a movement dedicated to redefining motorcycle gear. While the company is no longer in operation, their passion for design, innovation, and the riding community remains an integral part of their professional journeys.
